Shawn Johnson was a 2008 Olympic Champion winning Gold on the balance beam, Silver for individual All-Around, Silver for individual floor exercise and team Silver at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Shawn was born January 19, 1992 in West Des Moines, Iowa. Shawn’s parents put her in gymnastics at the age of 3 because of her excessive energy and at the age of 6 she started and remains today at Chows Gymnastics. |
Other Career Highlights include: • Her first Senior National championships in August 2007. • World AA Champion, with the largest point differentiation against some of the best gymnasts in the world. • In June 2008, Shawn reclaimed her title as she became the 2008 National Champion and was named to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team. Shawn’s parents always encouraged her to do her best and they have been behind her 100% of the time. Shawn’s loves are family, friends, gymnastics, animals, shopping, horseback riding and motorcycles. Shawn loves big and lives big. She is involved in various charitable activities such as walking shelter dogs, and working with animal and children’s charities. |

Shawn Johnson
Shawn is a typical teen who likes to shop or just relax at home. She also enjoys scrap booking, volunteering, and working with animals at the local dog shelter. She attends Valley Southwoods School and will attend an Ivy League School when she graduates in 2010 to become a doctor and also a gymnastics coach.
